About The Bridge at Spuyten Duyvil

My first novel has been the consummate definition of a labor of love. You might have read that the title was something my Dad came up with a good twenty years ago. It's been on my mind ever since, and I began the concepting stage not long after he passed away. Despite the fact that none of the family ever lived anywhere near the bridge in question, where the Harlem and Hudson rivers meet just north of Manhattan in New York City, i wanted the story to have elements of Dad's life. Lo and behold, I discovered a trove of photo albums and memorabilia from his time in Italy during World War II, and I thought, I just have to link all this together. Hence the storyline and the genre designation of "Historical Fiction."

The novel is available on Amazon in three different formats, ebook, paperback and hardcover. You can grab a copy at the link below, and if you do, I'd love a review!

Let me tell you a little bit about it.

In the chaos of World War II Italy, a young soldier fights not only the enemy, but the weight of a secret he never intended to keep.

Robert Field grows up in a bucolic little village called Spuyten Duyvil, and as soon as he’s eligible, immediately enters the turbulence of the war. He learns that survival sometimes demands silence – and that the truth can be as dangerous as any battlefield.

Upon reaching Italy, Robert’s life becomes a whirlwind of love and danger, creating inner turmoil and shocking twists that alter his life for years to come.
